SXT Ops Companion

A Chrome extension for DSP office staff. Each morning it shows which reports are still missing and opens the right Amazon page for each one. You download the report as you do today, and the extension sends the file to SXT Ops and keeps at it until the file is in. It also shows work waiting on you and searches associates, vans and repair orders.

What it does, and what it can't do

It does

  • Show today's reports each morning, built from your report schedule in SXT Ops: which are in, due or overdue. "Open in Amazon" opens that report's page in a new tab when you click it. You download the report there yourself.
  • Notice when a CSV or Excel report finishes downloading and send it to SXT Ops. By default it asks first. If you choose "Send automatically" and let it read report files in your Downloads folder, reports that match today's list and came from Amazon Logistics are sent without picking the file; everything else still asks.
  • Keep every file on a send list until SXT Ops has it, through restarts, sleep and dropped connections, with a plain reason when something fails. A file SXT Ops already has isn't sent twice.
  • Show a badge and notifications for files to review, grounded vans, repair follow-ups, payment gaps and drivers who messaged dispatch. A message alert names the driver and never shows what they wrote.
  • Search your company's associates, vans and repair orders, and open the right screen in SXT Ops.

It can't

  • Read, record, change or automate any web page, including Amazon's Logistics portal and Cortex. It has no access to web pages at all; Chrome lists no site access for it.
  • Ask for, see or store an Amazon password or session, or send any request to Amazon.
  • Open a tab on its own. Amazon pages open only when you click.
  • See your browsing history, cookies or the full web address of a download. It checks only whether a download came from Amazon Logistics and keeps that yes or no.
  • Read any file except a report you just downloaded, and only after you allow it.
  • Send anything to anyone other than SXT Ops.

Why it doesn't read Amazon's pages

Some DSP tools read the Logistics portal's pages, or the data behind them, while you're signed in. That breaks whenever Amazon changes a page or a field name, and it runs on your Amazon session, under an agreement that is between you and Amazon.

SXT Ops Companion depends on the report file instead. A report keeps the same columns for months, and when a column does change, SXT Ops holds the file for review rather than saving anything wrong. If Amazon moves a report page, the worst case is an "Open in Amazon" link that doesn't load until we update it on our side; the written steps beside it still work and nothing inside SXT Ops breaks. For your Amazon account, it is the same as a person downloading a report, because that is what happens.
